While things tend to slow down in the month of love (a blessing after the whirlwind of January), you can still keep the momentum going with these lifestyle, fashion and beauty launches and projects. Hereâs my curation of inbox arrivals and feed highlights for the month.
1 See you at Sodaze Sundaze
Edition Events made waves with their First Thursday Sk8 and Cr8 event earlier this month. Held at the City Bowl park, the event featured skateboarding, live art, music and food and drinks pop-ups. Iâm super excited to see what they have lined up next. Sodaze Sundaze teams up on the 28th this month with the peeps of Lis CBD ice cream as they launch their CBD-infused soda. It promises a market, flash tattoos and piercings, a secret bar and more of the good music, food, drinks and vibes you can come to expect. See you there!â
2 #Kickthedebt with Converse
The folks at Converse SA have pledged R1 million to the cause of education with their latest campaign: #Kickthedebt. With the help of personalities DJ Fix and Mo Flava the sneaker brrand is looking to address this âprominent issue South African youths faceâ. Inspired by the Fees Must Fall movement and recent calls for student debt to be erased, Converse is inviting anyone with student debt to apply to become a beneficiary. Now thatâs conscious business, and I love to see it! đđđ
You can nominate someone or apply here before the 3rd March.
3 Sporting the PUMA x Michael Lau Collection
The Godfather of Toy Figures, Michael Lau, teams up with PUMA for this collaboration which follows his creative process. The result is playful, tongue-in-cheek and artsy af. I love the red, yellow and green colour accents and that the campaign is a celebration of Asian talent featuring favourites, model Liu Wen, and actor Li Xian.
See the full collection here, available in SA now.
4 Lusting after Artclub and Friendsâ âAn Ode to Blueâ
Local artisan clothing brand, Artclub and Friends, found a winner in their 2016 dungaree design. Now a staple in many SA closets, the brand (and itâs signature dungaree design) has gone strength to strength since then, and in 2021 have launched the latest evolution: An Ode to Blue. âIn early 2020 we wanted to find the perfect tone to make our ownâ, they say. â#10069F is specifically where we found home.â Itâs a symbolic choice. âThrough a period of feeling overwhelmingly and consistently âblueâ, itâs been pretty symbolic to reclaim the colour as a colour that represents resilience, bravery, uniqueness and community.â Here for it!

5 Getting Glitterddd up with Scarlet Hill
Iâm a firm believer that there are two things you can never have too much of and thatâs: glitter and love. Mr Priceâs beauty brand, Scarlet Hill, canât love you back but it can provide you with plenty of the former with their latest Confetti Storm range. Consider me crushing on the brushes and eyeshadow palette as modelled by the fabulous faces of @johanssonvanessa, @lungilethabethe, @rowlene_sa and @amaqamata.
